This book is the first volume in the "Selected Works of Hong Kong Literature Studies" series, a large-scale anthology directed by Mr. POON Yiu-Ming, the director of the Museum of Hong Kong Literature, and edited by renowned scholar Professor XU Zi-Dong.

Louis CHA (1924–2018), also known as Jin Yong, was a renowned contemporary writer and journalist. Born as CHA Leung-YUung in Yuanhua Town, Haining County, Zhejiang Province in 1924, he moved to Hong Kong in 1948 when the Hong Kong newspaper Ta Kung Pao resumed publication. In 1955, Louis CHA began writing Wuxia novels, with his first work, The Book and the Sword, serialized in the New Evening Post. In 1959, he co-founded Ming Pao with his fellow hometown friend and junior high school classmate SHEN Bao-Xin, assuming roles as editor-in-chief and president. In 1966, he established Ming Pao Monthly, and in 1967, he launched Xin Ming Daily in Malaysia and Singapore, alongside Ming Pao Weekly. After concluding the serialization of The Deer and the Cauldron in 1972, Louis Cha announced his retirement from writing and began revising his earlier Wuxia novels. In April 1993, he stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Ming Pao Enterprise Limited and assumed the title of Honorary Chairman, formally retiring in early 1994.

"Collected Works on Louis CHA – Centennial Memorial Edition"(《金庸研究集——紀念金庸誕辰100周年》), edited by Mr. POON Yiu-Ming, features over 50 articles by writers, scholars, editors, and journalists from around the world. The content is divided into five sections: "The Literary Louis CHA," "The Journalist Louis CHA," "The Translator Louis CHA," "The Adapted Louis CHA," and "The Cultural Louis CHA." This edition also includes speeches and reflections by writers and scholars delivered at various commemorative events marking the 100th anniversary of Louis CHA's birth.

Editor's Biography: POON Yiu-Ming is a renowned writer and publisher, serving as the director of the Museum of Hong Kong Literature, the president of the Federation of Hong Kong Writers, and the president of the World Federation of Chinese Literature. He was also the editor-in-chief of Ming Pao Monthly for thirty years.
