Launched in May 2024, "Appreciation" is a literary and academic quarterly journal published by the Museum of Hong Kong Literature and edited by POON Yiu-Ming. The editorial board includes renowned scholars such as CHENG Pei-Kai, HUANG Zi-Ping, XU Zi-Dong, WONG Wai-Leung, LIU Jian-Mei, HUANG Xin-Cun, CHANG Song-Hing, and CHEUNG Shin-Yee. The calligraphy for the title was inscribed by former president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, KING Yeo-Chi. This richly illustrated publication, issued four times a year, covers both artistic and scholarly topics.
The standout feature of the inaugural issue is the world premiere of the complete manuscript of Eileen Chang's unpublished screenplay "Parting Sorrows"(《魂斷離恨天》), authorized exclusively for publication in "Appreciation" by Eileen CHANG's estate executor, Roland SOONG.
